Aizawl: 5th May 2023. The Mizoram State Election Commission has notified fresh dates for the General Elections in respect of 15-Rengkashya MDC constituency and has called upon the Bharatiya Janata Party to nominate a candidate in place of the deceased candidate. The new polling date has been fixed on 17.05.2023 in the fresh notification for the said constituency.

General Elections to CADC 2023 announced
The State Election Commissioner of Mizoram has announced the General Elections to the Chakma Autonomous District Council, 2023 for election to 20(Twenty) MDC seats for the tenure 2023-2028.
The Model Code of Conduct is thereby enforced henceforth till the announcement of the result.

CADC to remain closed on 16 & 17 January 2023
It is hereby notified that all the offices under Chakma Autonomous District Council shall remain closed on 16th & 17th January, 2023 as a mark of respect and mourning at the demise of the Members of Chakma Autonomous District Council Shri Mohesh Baran Chakma & Shri Charan Sing Chakma in a tragic accident on 16/01/2023
Governor’s Rule imposed in CADC
In excercise of the discretionary powers conferred by Para 16(2) read with Para 20BB of the Sixth Schedule to the Constitution of India, the Governor of Mizoram is pleased to assume all functions or powers vested in or exercisable by the Chakma Autonomous District Council vide the Govt. of Mizoram Notification No.A.43016/3/2018-DC&MA(C)/232 dated Aizawl, the 16th December 2022.
Golden Jubilee Celebrations in Sub-HQs postponed
The Chairman, CADC & Chairman of the the Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee has notified that the owing to the resignation of the CEM, CADC and the consequent dissolution of the Executive Committee of CADC, the planned celebration of the Golden Jubilee in the sub headquarters of CADC is postponed.
CADC Winter Session to begin from 10th November
Kamalanagar, 10 October, 2022: The Winter Session of the 10th Chakma Autonomous District Council is set to begins from 10th November (Thursday) 2022. In this regard, the Chairman of Chakma Autonomous District Council notified and summons the Members of the 10th Chakma Autonomous District Council to sit for Winter Session 2022-2023 from 10th November, 2023 at 10:30 A.M in the Session Hall of Chakma Autonomous District Council, Kamalanagar.
Informing that both Official and Non-official business meant for the Winter Session 2022-2023 may be submitted to the Chairman office during office hours on or before 26th October, 2022 (Wednesday).

ORDER
Whereas, it has been made aware to the undersigned of the pervasiveness of teer gambling across Chawngte Sub-Division. Gambling, once considered to be associated with stigma and vice, is now generally perceived as a harmless adult entertainment and has become mainstream in our society. With increased exposure to, and availability of unregulated forms of gambling, more youth are succumbing to the temptation and pressure to engage in these activities. Serious gambling habits undermine the future development, academic life and, career. The effect on social, financial and emotional life can be devastating and spill over into all other areas.
Now, therefore, I, Dr. Manesia Khaimeichho, MCS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Chawngte, in exercise of power conferred on me under section 133 (1)(b) CrPC, do hereby order to stop buying and selling of βteerβ in Chawngte Sub-Division.
This order shall come into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force until and unless revoked. Violation of this order shall make one liable to punishment under Sec. 188 CrPC.
