Nagdarasora, 08 December, 2020: Pu S Kaptluanga, SDO(C) and BDO, Chawngte RD Block, today visited Nagdarasora accompanied by Dg. Ganachandra Chakma, Education Officer, CADC, Pu Rattan Kumar, SDPO, Chawngte and Prabin Chakma, I&PRO, CADC to see the construction of the road connecting Udalthana and Gulsinghbapsora via Nagdarasora and the construction of a new Primary School building.
The team was accorded a warm welcome by the villagers who gathered at the entrance of the village.
The road measuring more than 15 km is being constructed at a cost of Rs.1.20 Crore funded under BADP. The construction will only do the formation cutting of the road. The SDO said permanent works like surface metaling, construction of drains and culverts will be done from other schemes.
For the first time Nagdarasora will be connected by road. The internal road of the village has been also cut from the fund and now vehicle can reach the village in about 2 hours. Earlier, it used to take more than 6 hours on foot.
The team also visited the school under construction. The school is being constructed at a cost of Rs.22 Lakhs with full brick wall consisting of 5 rooms under BADP.
The SDO interacted with the villagers and he was told about the other need of the village for a Community hall, a Bazar shed and a football field.
Pu Kaptluanga expressed concern to the villagers about the lot of trees being felled for log which he has seen while coming on the way and urged the villagers to ensure forest cover is protected while adding that things like road for development becomes meaningless if environment turns out to be a victim.

Kamalanagar, 03 December, 2020: Pu Robert Romawia Royte, Hon’ble Minister of State who has arrived yesterday at Kamalanagar, headquarters of Chakma Autonomous District Council today unveiled the laying of Astro Turf surface at Kamalanagar Football Playground amidst great excitement especially among the young sports enthusiasts. The event was witnessed by a huge crowd.

The programme was attended by Dg. Rasik Mohan Chakma, CEM, CADC, Pu Lawmawma Tochhawng, Vice-Chairman, HPC Lunglei and Pu S. Kaptluanga, SDO(C), Chawngte besides other dignitaries.
The infrastructure will be first of its kind for this remote area. The creation of the asset indicates the keen intention of the government to make available world class sporting infrastructure to the remotest part of the state to provide opportunity to young talents. Football is the most loved game of the state and it has produced world class players who have excelled in the game at the national level.
The laying of artificial turf will be done at a cost of Rs.532.50 Lakhs which will also include site preparation, security fencing, concrete paver block footpath around the ground and RCC building for pavilion and changing room. The Department of Sports and Youth Services, Government of Mizoram will provide technical and professional assistance. The Project will be operated and maintained by the Department.
Pu Royte, addressing the gathering said that the construction of the football ground will be the beginning of an era of development for this backward area and cited many projects that are in the pipeline for this area like Construction of Community Service Centre at a cost of Rs.140 Lakhs, Construction of Girls Hostel at a cost of Rs.282.80 Lakhs, Construction of Volley Ball Court with viewing gallery at a cost of Rs.32.87 Lakhs and construction of Residential School at a cost of Rs.3461.70 Lakhs. He has said a football academy shall also be established at Chawngte in the coming days.
Unveiling ceremony of the Astro Turf at Kamalanagar Football Ground.
He urged for communal harmony between all the communities like Lushai, Chakma, Lai, Bawm, Bru, Hindu Bengali and Muslim Bengali living in Chawngte and Kamalanagar and added that the football ground shall be a force of integration and unity between the different communities. Incidentally Pu Royte was wearing a Mizo traditional shirt and a Chakma waist coat.
He stated, “Working for social and economic development of the minority communities of Mizoram was in our election manifesto and we shall remain committed to its spirit.”
He further added, “Without developing backward southern Mizoram we cannot claim to be a developed state.”
Dg. Rasik Mohan Chakma was full of appreciation for Pu Royte for his ability to reign-in central fund for developmental work and thanked him profusely for the project which he stated was beyond their expectation, Kamalanagar being such a small town located in the remote corner of the state. He praised for his vision of inclusiveness, to develop Mizoram as a whole and his love for Mizoram. Apprising the Minister about CADC he said, “Here our needs are all very basic and for developing this area one has to start from the scratch.”
Kamalanagar, 01 December, 2020: Dg. Rasik Mohan Chakma, Hon’ble CEM, CADC today inaugurated the completion PCC pavement of internal roads of Saizawh (W) village about 1 Km from Kamalanagar in a programme organised by Pu. S. Kaptluanga, SDO (C) and BDO, Chawngte RD Block.
The pavement of the road measuring 500 m long was completed at a cost of Rs.12 Lakhs. Bamboo reinforcement which is gaining widespread usage has been used in the pavement of the road. The work has been funded by Rural Development Department, Government of Mizoram.
The CEM and the SDO(C) speaking made mention of other developmental works being executed within Saizawh village during the current term of the Executive Committee, CADC. PCC pavement of another road within Saizawh at a cost of Rs.5.7 lakhs, construction of Saizawh (W) Comprehensive Middle School at a cost of Rs.31 Lakhs and Construction of Community Hall at a cost of Rs.20 Lakhs are the major works so far taken up.
Saizawh (W) is a village lived by the ‘Bawm’ and ‘Thlanglau’ tribe and its origin dates back to 1948. It has a population of 470 as per record of village population register.
