Five Houses In Bazar Area Of Borapansury Gutted to Ashes By Fire Accident

Borapansury, 4 March 2017: Five families were rendered homeless in a fire accident of Bazar area of Borapansury. Nothing could be salvaged out of the raging inferno. Properties worth some 50 Lakhs were destroyed and turned to ashes. However, no lose of life was reported. Two of the victims had businesses, one dealing in drugs and another in hardware.The incident occurred at about 6 pm on the fateful evening of 4th March. The accident is suspected to have originated from a power short circuit.

Showcause Notice Served To Borapansury-I Village Council

Kamalanagar, 4 March 2017: Following the verdict of the Gauhati High Court, Aizawl Bench declaring the dissolution order of the Village Council of Borapansury-I null and void while restoring its status, the CADC authority served a show cause notice to the village council on the charges of irregularities, corruption and misappropriation of public money.

Gauhati High Court set aside the dissolution order of Borapansury-I Village Council

Aizawl, 8 Feruary 2017: The Gauhati High Court Aizawl Bench set aside and quashed the dissolution order of Borapansury-I Village Council issued by the Executive Committee of CADC on the charges of irregularities, corruption and misappropriation of Public money. Aggrieved Shri Dhal Kumar Chakma, VCP and six other members challenged the dissolution order in the Guahati High Court, Aizawl Bench and a case was registered under WP(C) No.204 of 2016.

Mizoram Governor Is Coming To Kamalanagar Next Monday

Kamalanagar, 10 November 2016: His Excellency the Governor of Mizoram Lt. Gen(Rtd) Nirbhay Sharma will be on a tour next Monday, 14th November 2016 to the three ADCs鈥擟ADC, LADC and MADC. He will land at the Kamalanagar helipad at 10:10 am and will stay for about an hour. He will be visiting developmental works such as Kamalanagar College, Modernization of Kamalanagar Town and Kamalanagar Town road under SPA.

Borapansury-1 Village Council Dissolved

Kamalanagar, 6 Nov. 2016: The MNF party run Village Council of Borapansury-1 under CADC was dissolved last week on 28th October on the grounds of financial misappropriation and corrupt practices of the village council under a notification issued by the Local Administration Department, CADC. This is the only MNF party village council besides the Vaseitlang-2.
The Borapansury-1 and Vaseitlang-2 Village Councils are the only Village Councils in the last VC General Election of 25/2/2015, the MNF party managed to win with absolute majority.

A complaint was lodged by Dg. Ananta Kumar Chakma, Member, Vigilance Committee, NFSA, Borapansury-1 and Dg. Guno Muni Chakma, Ex-VCP, Borapansury-1 on 5/9/2016 with charges of malpractice in the allocation of Family ration cards under National Food Security Act (NFSA) and misappropriation of funds collected out of MGNREGA wages for development of newly established Higher secondary School.
An enquiry and on the spot verification was instituted which observed the following:

路 The VC allotted Family Ration Cards under PHH to Government/Semi-Government employees in violation of relevant section of NFSA.

路 The selection awarding different categories of ration cards has been made without consent of Vigilance Committee of NFSA, Borapansury-1 and holding meeting with the members of the Committee.

路 The VC President embezzled the amount of 1(one) day MGNREA wages of Rs.25,325/- donated by the general public of Borapansury-1.

路 Village Council Proceeding register in support of the decision taken in the Gram Sabha meeting regarding proposal/execution of MGNREA works was not maintained.

路 No Cash Book showing actual receipt & payment of VC Fund received from CADC and State Government was maintained.

路 Full payment to 29 additional Job Card holders granted during 2015 were not made.

The notification appointed Dg. Guno Muni Chakma s/o Chiba Choga Chakma of Borapansury-1 as Administrator to assume the charge of Village Council President and Village Council Court for the interim period till a new village council is elected.

CADC Employees Medical Reimbursement Allowance Increased

Kamalanagar, 3 November 2016:The fixed Medical Re-imbursement allowance for the employees of CADC has been revised and increased from the existing rate of Rs.500 to Rs.1000. The MR allowance is paid as part of their salaries. The increase will be effective from the month of October.
The CDCEA and CDCTA earlier have approached the CADC authority and submitted a representation for the same. The associations are all thankful and expressed happiness over the present Executive Committee of CADC for the upward revision of the allowance.

Gauhati High Court, Aizawl Bench Dismisses The Writ Petition Filed By BJP VC Members Of Baganpara; CADC Urged to Re-Look The CADC VC Act 2003

Kamalanagar, 24 September 2016: The Gauhati High Court Aizawl Bench, in its Judgment dated 31.08.2016 over the W.P.(C) No.109 of 2015, while dismissing the writ petition filed by the BJP Village Council members of Baganpara on the ground that there was no challenge to the Chakma Autonomous District Council (Village Council) Act 2003 expressed opinion that the concerned authority should have a re-look into the provision of the CADC (Village Council) Act, 2003 with regards to the voting rights of the Nominated Members for election /selection of the President/Vice-President of the Village Councils.
